  • Your consultant assesses every window — treatment type, panel weight, room design, ceiling height, and hardware requirements.

Accessory Specification

  • Hardware finish, rod diameter, cornice proportions, valance drop, and lift system type are all specified before ordering.

Professional Installation

  • Brackets go into studs. Rods are level. Cornices at the exact height. Lift systems are calibrated for the treatment weight.

Ongoing Service

  • When hardware loosens, a lift mechanism needs service, or a cornice needs adjustment — your local Bloomin Blinds team handles it.

Three Principles for Getting Accessories Right

Upload Your Window

  • Hardware finish needs to coordinate tonally — not match exactly. Warm metals (brass, bronze, gold) work together. Cool metals (nickel, chrome, silver) work together. Mixing warm and cool creates unintentional visual tension.

Proportion to the Window

  • A cornice that is too shallow looks like an afterthought. A valance that is too deep eats the window. Rod projection determines how far panels stack off the glass. Every accessory is sized relative to the window it finishes.

Function Before Decoration

  • A lift system is chosen for safety and daily usability first. Hardware is sized for the panel weight before its finish is chosen. The accessory serves the treatment — the treatment does not accommodate a poorly specified accessory.

Cornices provide a cleaner, more architectural finish. Valances are softer and more casual. Both conceal hardware and add design presence — the right choice depends on the room's design direction.
  • Cordless or motorized — without exception. Bloomin' Blinds recommends cordless or motorized lift systems as the standard, in compliance with ANSI/WCMA A100.1-2022 cord safety requirements. This is not an upgrade — it's the baseline recommendation for every installation in a home with children.
  • It should coordinate — exact matching isn't required. Warm metals (brass, bronze, gold) work together, and cool metals (nickel, chrome, silver) work together. Mixing warm and cool creates unintentional tension. Your Bloomin' Blinds consultant reviews the room's existing metal palette before specifying a hardware finish.
  • Yes — in most cases. A cornice or valance can be added above an existing blind or shade. Hardware can be upgraded without changing the treatment panels. Lift systems can sometimes be retrofitted from corded to cordless or motorized depending on the treatment type.
  • Yes. Bloomin' Blinds repairs window treatment accessories — hardware tightening, cornice re-mounting, valance re-hanging, and lift mechanism service — for accessories we installed and for accessories installed by others. Most repairs are handled on-site in a single visit.
